A very warm welcome back at the start of this academic year from us both. It is always lovely to begin the term with such lovely autumnal weather and we are excited at the prospect of writing a weekly blog and being able to share with you some of the events here at New Bridge School and Learning Centre.
We are all looking forward to another successful year. Last year saw our best results ever with even more pupils and students gaining well-deserved qualifications, and we are very proud of all our young people’s achievements. They have gained recognition across a wide range of subjects including art, employability, horticulture, performing arts and history as well as completing a record number of Duke of Edinburgh Awards!
It was heartening to see so many smiling faces at the start of the new school year with all our young people ready to learn. Down at the school everyone looked so smart in their school uniforms while the students up at the Learning Centre were very grown up in their own clothes.
Year 7 have made a great start to secondary school and Year 12 are enjoying being at the Learning Centre. They have all impressed the staff with their commitment and helpfulness towards each other. These transitions can be daunting but our young people have taken a massive leap into maturity without hesitation and are coping well.
On a final note, our website is full of information to help you so please keep checking in to see what’s happening. Our Principal, Graham Quinn, also has his own blog and you can now keep up with all the developments throughout the New Bridge Group in his Principal’s blog.
