Welcome to another entry!
We are now into our third week of the new term and the school timetable is in full operation. Living skills classes are out and about in the community, practising what we have talked about in the classroom and learning how to be safe in a variety of real life contexts.
The new football season has kicked off at school, and our teams have also got off to a successful start at Manchester City’s fantastic community provision. Both our girls’ team and boys’ team are taking part in the Disability Football League this year and have already done New Bridge proud in their first matches.
Up at the Learning Centre the building work which began during the summer holidays is nearing completion. Some of the Horizons staff and young people are now based in a wing at the Learning Centre and the move has gone very well. The new timetable with an exciting curriculum offer is starting to settle and students are enjoying accessing the community, with some students now working across all 3 New Bridge sites. Everyone continues to cope really well and they are embracing college life.
Can we remind parents that letters have gone out about the October half term holiday club. Replies need to be back in by next Friday 25th September to ensure adequate staffing and activities are in place.
Graham has also posted an update today, you can keep up with the new developments throughout the New Bridge Group in his Principal’s blog.
