I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend as much as I did. I’ve returned from a weekend camp with my fellow Explorers group and had a great but freezing time! Doing activities such as quad biking, hovercraft and survival skills was awesome, but away from all that and back to our New Bridge Group to tell you all about last week…

On Monday the school celebrated an early World Book Day which saw quite a number of students dressed up for the occasion. It was great to see the Cat in the Hat, Dennis the Menace and Harry Potter! I can’t wait for next year’s World Book Day. An update on our Year 11 Haven residential; all deposits have been returned, just a little tweaking with staff and the meeting should commence 3 or 4 weeks before the residential.

On Wednesday a few members of Activ8 started doing video analysis for our PE GCSE, filming in game play and training drills. We also we continued our weight training video analysis which is going exceptionally well! Due to a busy schedule with GCSEs I have had to step down from the Aladdin and Jasmine production as the Genie. I wish Lumenus and the rest of the cast all the best and I can’t wait to watch the show.

A few years ago the PE team set up a girls’ football team. They went out and competed in the One City Disability football league and after all their hard work a selected number of girls have been given the opportunity to play for Manchester City’s girls’ football team! It’s great to see the girls playing a part in representing the school and also getting to wear one of the greatest kits that’s ever been created!

Last Monday saw the beginning of Andy’s Man Club at Medtia Square. The first session was a huge success and I hope even more people attend the next one because I highly recommend it and #ITSOKAYTOTALK!

Apologies for a short blog, hopefully there will be more to tell next week – I’m still on recovery after the weekend (and missing City beat Sunderland, climbing up the table because we’ve got GUARDIOLA!)

Hope you all enjoy your week!

Jack
