jackI’d like to welcome everybody back for a fresh half term, hope you all enjoyed the break and are ready for the final term. It’s the time of year where exams are starting to come into play with long nights of revision – I’ll try to keep my blogs as consistent as I can and I apologise if I miss any.

On Wednesday we saw the second Duke of Edinburgh’s group go camping on their Silver practice expedition, the group did exceptionally well and came back in one piece. It brings back memories of long days in a canoe paddling through the lakes to get to our destination, get tea then a kick about round the field. Well done to all those who took part and good luck on your full qualifying expedition.

This week our wheelchair basketball team will be making the trip down to Worcester to compete in the national finals after qualifying in the regionals – as a player I’ll be waking up early doors at 5am and kicking Nathan out of bed! I’ll update on the results in my blog next week.

Echoing Mrs Lamb’s blog this week, there has still been some ongoing immature behaviour on social media. As Mrs Lamb said, maybe switching off before bed is the best idea. My message to people who might make the wrong choices is remember we’re a family and we’re not meant to argue, we’re supposed to get along and support one another.

Thursday was our first exam of our GCSE PE which was the practical side of the course. We were all very nervous at first but once we settled into our programme we flew through it and worked exceptionally well! I just want to congratulate Nathan, Connor and Matty on their hard work.

So, the time is getting closer to the crucial match of the year, the testimonial. Matty is still living in hope of being victorious over me (although I recall beating him once this year) but let him have his dream until then. A lot of preparations for exams now, lots of revision and focusing on achieving but it’ll be all worth it in the end – onto a new journey at Oldham College!

It’s been a good first week back and I’m ready for the next one ahead. Hopefully a victory in the nationals at Worcester will cement a fantastic year for New Bridge and what a year to go out on!

I hope everyone enjoys the week!

Jack
