‘Celebration’ is the theme of my blog this week. We have celebrated the success of our Years 7, 8 and 9 pupils in Key Stage 3 whilst also saying goodbye to our Year 11 pupils. It was great to see so many parents and carers supporting us in Key Stage 3 at this event..
Mrs Needham celebrated success in Maths where there were lots of subject awards including TT Rock Stars..
Mr Greenhalgh and Mr Allman, our pastoral team, celebrated the lighter side of school life with awards like ‘most likely to be a pop star’ (Mr Kershaw)!!
The highlight of my week by far was attending the good work assembly at the lower school. We celebrated all the good work that the boys and girls have achieved this half term. I absolutly loved seeing all their work and meeting all the parents from Year 6 who will be with us in September. Kyle explained all about his trip to MAGNA, he was so confident that I’m now going to go and visit in the summer with George..
Mrs Young’s class shared their learning about Science, Literacy and RE. I loved your work on Noah’s Ark..
Mr Mullins’ class talked about their topic on the Romans. They shared fabulous diary extracts..
Mrs Fishers’ class designed and made bird boxes..
This little boy was adorable singing his ABC..
Well done Kobi, you brought tears to our eyes!
Here is Leo trying on his new uniform, very excited to be coming up to big school in September..
We also watched a very useful powerpoint on our Year 6 transition:

SBA2 Nurture Group took a trip to Bury fire training centre all the boys took part in practical tasks and individual quiz questions. The whole experience was amazing. It was very interesting and real life situations were presented to the boys. Definitely a day out to recommend..
Let’s have a look at Mrs Walters’ group….lots of success..
We have had a very busy week in Nurture with the group splitting on Friday and doing different activities. Mark and Wayne went off with the Duke of Edinburgh’s group with Mr Hopkins, James and Lewis went to Heaton Park with Mrs Walters and Mrs Needham and some of her group for the morning. Lewis loved the squirrels as they were quite tame and he could get close to them and the playground was a hit as well..
In Maths this week we have looked at probability and the group did a washing line activity before progressing to individual work..
Wow, what an achievement for all the boys, especially Mark at the celebration assembly. You have made fabulous progress this year, I am so proud of all of you..
On Thursday in our food technology lesson the boys were asked what they wanted to make. It was decided by the group it had to be shepherd’s pie..
The boys worked independently for most of the lesson and had a great dish for tea..
We have a quick questionnaire for parents and we’d be very grateful if you could click on the link here to let us know how we’re doing.
To end the week, I love this photo of Alex with Patch on their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award trip last Friday..
This picture sums up how all the students and staff are feeling right now just before the last week of term….very tired!
Have a lovely restful weekend everyone,
Miss Rodgers
