Mr Bright has an update for us on all the work our IT pathway students have been doing in the run up to Christmas..
During a week when there have been so many festive activities going on around New Bridge, our DIGIT4LL pathway students at Medtia have been hard at work with their enterprises. In the last 10 days they have been filming a range of Christmas shows within the New Bridge Group and also for other local schools. Once they finished the filming, they had to quickly edit the footage, design DVD labels and covers..
..burn to disc..
..and package and deliver to the different schools..
Joshua and Eliot handed over 65 DVDs for the St Anne’s Lydgate Christmas Nativity, bringing in a whopping £295!!!
On top of all this, they have still been producing huge quantities of canvases, mugs and mobile phone cases, making sure they fulfilled all their Christmas orders..
The students have also been busy setting up stalls at local Christmas markets..
If the students weren’t making their own money, we could easily be mistaken for running some kind of child labour mass production factory! However, the reality is these young adults have taken control of their enterprise and work extremely hard in the knowledge they are building something successful. They are also well aware they are making money for themselves as part of the national Young Enterprise scheme we are involved with – in the last few weeks we have turned over £1,300!!! Luke certainly had plenty of cash to deposit at the bank..
None of the successes the students have had would have been possible without the amazing support of our two members of staff who work so closely with them, Mr Handrick and Mr Slater. I can’t thank them enough for making New Bridge Printers and New Bridge Productions the success it is. Merry Christmas, everyone!!!
