Hi everyone. I’ve got a bumper edition for you this week, with no end of learning going on across both home and school.

First though, I need to wish a belated Happy Birthday to our wonderful Millie who was 13 last week. We all hope you had a lovely day and what a fantastic birthday cake!

On to your learning. Mrs Goddard has shared with us one of Jarif’s latest concept designs. This is one for a suit for Miguel O’Hara, also known as Spiderman 2099. Looks stunning Jarif.

She’s also received another instalment of Kyle’s outdoor adventures. This week it’s been sheep spotting! 🙂

Miss Patchett has sent me an update on her group’s progress with their Summer Holiday topic. Kaif has had great fun playing summer bingo..

Josh has completed a summer fun comprehension sheet..

..created a rainbow poem..

..and ordered summer words in alphabetical order..

Brilliant Josh. Meanwhile, Sean has been busy baking bread. He’s correctly followed the recipe which included weighing out the ingredients and he reports that the bread was delicious. Certainly looks yummy Sean..

Sean has also completed a summer coding challenge and been busy working on his Times Tables Rock Stars and Mathletics targets..

Excellent effort Sean and well done all of you.

Miss Kershaw is so proud of the pupils in her group who have really got into their learning this week, completing lots of the learning activities she has set on Seesaw. James has been completing this every day and as you can see and hear in the videos, he’s making great progress with his reading and understanding of shapes and colours. Amazing James.

Meanwhile, Arthur has been a super learner both this week and last. He has completed activities every day on Seesaw including Saturday and Sunday! A huge well done Arthur!!

Jamie has also completed lots of activities on Seesaw. His mum has created a fantastic learning station for him with lots of activity books. Clearly loving getting down to some serious studying there Jamie judging by your incredible concentration.

Lastly, Tes, a regular feature in the blog due to his love of learning at home, has taken time out to attend a hospital appointment and visit his grandad’s garden for a visit.

Miss Shaw’s group have had a brilliant week in school. They’ve been keeping up their learning in Maths and English whilst combining this with their learning about keeping healthy. This has involved using apps on their iPads..

..mapping out their learning from their ‘Healthy Mind and Body’ topic on spider graphs..

..and combining Maths and fitness with the invention ’times tables trampolining’! In case you’re wondering, it involves shouting out your times tables whilst bouncing on a trampoline. 🙂 How high can you go?!

Another pupil who has been exercising both body and mind this week is Finley who has stretched his creative skills to make music using a guitar..

He’s also been testing his endurance skills with a bike ride to explore a local nature trail..

What an all round superstar! Well done Finley.

Rayhan has got hands on with his learning this week during his topic learning. He’s been studying viruses and created his own 3D model of a virus.

Given the fabulous weather outside, it’s no surprise that he chose to have his lunch and enjoy a bit of sun.

He wasn’t the only one wanting to enjoy the sun. Kingston had a great time practising riding a bike..

..followed by a bit of much needed shade under a tree..

Impressive skills there Kingston.

Mrs Taylor shares another successful week on the English learning front. Nayem has created his own meatball sandwich with instructions..

Alex has been very busy and caught up on all his learning activities including managing to sequence his sentences..

Sulaiman shared thrilling Thursday and wrote about a special experience..

Rose has working on the word ‘yes’ and has managed to use it in a sentence..

Megan W has also worked well this week, she too has caught up on her work and demonstrated a great understanding of suffixes..

Mariam has been awarded a certificate from Spellzone for her achievements..

Finally, Megan K has been working exceptionally well this week. Not only has she started reading a new book called The Twits..

..she has worked her way to top of the leader board in Literacy Planet..

Everyone that has been using the Epic reading app has continued to make great progress. Between them they have read over 400 books! Absolutely superb! So proud of you all.

I have to say a big thank you to Mrs Wilson who has organised for some of our Interactive Base pupils both in school and at home to have virtual music therapy sessions with Live Music Now. This week it was the first session with our group in school and the pupils had a great time.

We’re looking forward to future sessions. It’s not just been all about the music though, the group have made truffles and individual, no-bake cheesecakes, created a rainbow display for the classroom window, played lots of games, and even crafted their own paper mache elephants. What a week! Well done everyone.

Xavier has enjoyed a wonderful week looking at ‘fantastic places’ in Geography..

..researching Norman history..

..and making a beautiful foil scrap artwork for his mum.

He’s also invented his own original board game based on the principles of staying safe in school; you use the designated toilet … move forward three places, but sneeze and don’t cover your mouth … go back to the start! 😃 So impressed with your creativity Xavier. Well done.

A very special project that Xavier has worked on this week is a piece of rock art he’s painted in memory of Fabiana. A beautiful and thoughtful gift Xavier.

Finally, Mrs Brookes has sent in a little picture she’s devised from some of Philip’s Mathletics challenges. He’s very proud of his progress and so you should be Philip. Fantastic effort.

Which just leaves me to say a huge congratulations to our Mathletics certificate winners this week. Well done to Esha, Jake, Sean, Shaun, Madison, Nayem, Kyle and Casie who have all earned their Bronze Certificate. An extra well done goes to Kyle, Nayem and Sean who also earned their Silver Certificate. Keep it up everyone.

That’s it from me for another week.

Take care, stay safe.

Gavin
