Welcome to another blog.

This week our Bridging the Gap students have something special to share with us. I will let our job coach Amanda tell you more..

Hi everyone hope you’re all keeping well. The students from Bridging the Gap at the Royal Oldham Hospital have come to the end of their time with New Bridge and all leave next week. They have been busy writing thank you emails to the placement staff they worked with at the hospital, and have also written a message for all the staff they have worked with at New Bridge that we’d love to share with you.

  • Cherrie..

I would like to say thank you to all the staff at the Learning centre that have supported me and helped me improve. If it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t of come as far and I wouldn’t of been able to go on Bridging the Gap this year.
I would like to say a big thank you to Sarah Wright because she showed the right things to do and helped me make good choices.

I would like to says massive thank you to Amanda and Hayley for helping me in lots of ways this year. They helped me to to become more mature and independent and taught me how to behave appropriately in the work place which will help me in the future and when i get a job.
After being on Bridging the Gap i now feel more confident and so in September i am going to Oldham college to start a new course.
From Cherrie xx

Its been an amazing experience which I will always remember. Thank you for helping me become a better person and for helping me mature into the person I am today, if it wasn’t for you guys i wouldn’t of been as confident.

You have both done such an amazing job and even though I’ve been a pain at times you have always given me the best advice and understood me, so thank you.
From Nathan

I would like to thank all the staff at New Bridge school and Medtia, but in particular I would like to thank, Miss Tootill, Mr Smith and Mr Lawrence for giving me confidence when doing sports and sports leadership.

Mr Holland for understanding my needs in Maths and miss Hartley for English.

Miss Bell and Miss Whitehead for supporting me through Bridging the gap, and helping me gain more confidence in myself for the future.

Thank you to Miss Allison for listening and supporting me when I needed help.

I am looking forward to going to Oldham college and learning new skills for the future to hopefully enable me to get a job, and try and succeed in becoming a teaching assistant.

I would finally like to thank all the students that have helped me through my time at both New Bridge and Medtia, we have been through good times and bad, but have supported each other and become better people for this.

From Patrick.

Have a lovely weekend, take care and look after each other.
Amanda and Hayley

I must say that I am ever so proud of all our students and how well they have coped during this difficult time.

I am also very thankful to the fantastic staff team who have worked so hard, week in and week out, to ensure that students have work sent to them. They have been in contact with you all and I know the staff team have enjoyed making those socially distanced visits.

On our news you will have all received through ParentPay a letter to let you all know that we will be moving sites. We aren’t moving far but Pennine House will be the new home for the New Bridge College, the home for our Key Stage 5 Pathways, Bridging the Gap and Future Finders. The team are all working hard to ensure that the building is ready and gives our students the space and opportunities to continue to excel in their chosen pathway. Please do not hesitate to contact any of the staff team if you have any questions about this.

I hope you have a lovely weekend, take care.
