Weekly blog 26.11.21
It really is hard to believe that next week we will be in December and starting the countdown to Christmas, and as this weekend is the first Sunday in advent, I can legitimately put up my Christmas decorations!!
Its been another full on week at the Learning centre as the following report illustrates…
“This week we have continued our Autumn theme. Monday morning we had well-being morning, and our students enjoyed relaxation and music. On Thursday morning we went on outdoor Ed. Friday morning we were busy making our own shortbread biscuits in cooking.”
This week also saw our first wellbeing morning which was a great success. There is a report from our wellbeing lead Mrs Keane on our Facebook page…
Update on last weeks Children in Need – The total so far is over £400, I’ll share the final amount as soon as all the monies come in. I need to say a big well done to all those students who took part in the 100 mile in a week challenge with Mr Taylor in Outdoor Education lessons, here are the totals for each group with the students distances added together to make up the group’s total.
Group Distance in miles

Mr Blackman 7
Mr Taylors DofE 12
Mrs Keane 18.9
Mrs Mcdonald 3.75
Mr Fennelly 4.75

This week I was delighted to welcome Charlotte Oliver to the staff team. Charlotte is our new EHCP coordinator and will be working closely with families running our annual reviews. If you have any questions, she is happy to help.
Today we said goodbye to Dianne in the kitchen who retired today, sorry we made you cry Dianne, but the staff and students wanted to say a big thank you for ensuring students receive a warm, tasty and nutritional meal. We welcome back Sharon on Monday who will be taking over.
We are currently planning our Learning Centre Christmas market which will take place on the last week of term. Unfortunately, this will not be open to visitors but we will be sending home order forms in the next couple of weeks, so its not too late to get your last minute Christmas gifts.
Have a great weekend all,
Take care and stay safe
