Last Blog of 2021!
This will be my last blog of this year, although I will be sharing news and photos from next week’s Christmas activities and keep families up to speed with any updates.
There has been a lot on the news about the new omicron variant of covid and I imagine families are understandably concerned. I would like to take this opportunity to assure families that we have robust systems of control in place to ensure the safety of both staff and students. We have also implemented some additional protocols for next week in light of the concerns around the new omicron variant of covid.
As you are aware, we have already had to postpone next week’s Parents group in line with guidance from Public Health and we hope that these meeting can reconvene soon during the spring term.
We are advising daily testing (LFT) every morning next week as a precautionary measure, and we are also ensuring that there is no mixing of groups during next week’s activities. As you may be aware, contacts of any positive omicron case are required to self-isolate for 10 days and we definitely don’t want to risk people not being able to meet loved ones this Christmas or becoming ill themselves! The safety of staff and students remains our paramount concern.
We continue to review our detailed risk assessments and share any updates with families as they occur. If you have any concerns, please don not hesitate in contacting the Learning Centre.
We are advising for all completing twice weekly Lateral Flow tests, that for next week these are done every morning before coming to the Learning Centre.
During the last week of term, we have a range of Christmas activities including our Christmas dinner and a range of competitions and activities.
On Monday 13th December we are holding our very own Christmas market. Unfortunately, due to current covid guidelines, this cannot be open to visitors, however goods can be pre-ordered, and we will be sending out order forms next week for Christmas Candles & Gifts, Temple Spar products & Poinsettia plants. We will also be selling some delicious cakes & sweets.
We would like to ask families if they can support us by contributing items for the tombola stall. There will also be a tombola stall and raffle to win a variety of Christmas hampers so please ensure students bring in money so they can join in and pick up any last-minute gifts.
I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all our families for your continued support and to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a peaceful, and healthy 2022.
Take care and stay safe
