Weekly blog 27.05.21

I can’t quite believe where the time is going, the weeks are flying by! Just because it’s the last week we definitely haven’t slowed down.

On Monday & Tuesday, Mrs Reade’s class were out and about with Mr Taylor as part of their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh. Even though there were some tired legs and sore feet they carried on and made it through. I’m so very proud of you all, a big Well Done!

As I was doing my walk around classes this week I popped down to Mrs Brierly’s class and was blown away by the 60’s display and just had to share. The class have also been learning about the Beatles, England winning the World Cup and the Moon Landing.

This week the whole Learning Centre joined in the celebrations for the Queen’s platinum jubilee! Massive thanks to our amazing Nurture group students who helped plan for the Jubilee Party and made bunting and pictures to decorate the classroom room, main hall and dining room. They worked as a team to put flags up around the Learning Centre ensuring that the whole place has been decked throughout in Red White & Blue!

Staff and students were treated to a special lunch of Fish & chips, or cheese and onion pie, both of which were yummy, as were the scones and special jubilee cakes!

We used the ILS as the backdrop for some of our pictures which was great fun.

We had a fabulous party with all the students particularly enjoying the disco vibes and rousing rendition of ‘The National Anthem’ to finish. I have to say, I found it very emotional.

A huge thankyou to our amazing Learning Centre team for a great half term, and to our students, you continue to inspire me, I feel immensely privileged to work with you all!
