Employability Group
This week the Employability Group have taken opportunities to practice skills needed for different aspects of the beauty industry.
Miss Worrad was a willing guinea pig to have her fingernails and toenails painted, whilst Mrs Peacock was more than happy with her reflexology treatment expertly delivered by Shannon for which she usually pays £60!
Some students also had their nails done by their peers.
Shannon took some wonderful photographs after we persuaded a local photographer to give us some tips in how to produce effective shots.
Shannon enjoyed trying her hand at different types of shots and found ways of making seemingly insignificant images more interesting to look at.
She captioned two of them –
I zoomed in and took a picture of coins. Darren then helped me to do the editing by changing the picture from colour into black and white.
I took a picture of the sky and the reflection in the window. I then edited it to make the blue stand out.
One picture she failed to caption was snapped as a distance shot. She cut it short, leaving the L off the Learning Centre sign to leave an apt sign for the Employability Group – Earning Centre.
