I’d like to take this opportunity to share some amazing moments from last week.

I’d like to introduce Zara & Shannon

On Wednesday evening we held our Invitational meeting where we report back to Governors about what’s been going on at the Learning Centre. The meeting always starts with a celebration and previously I’ve shared reports or videos from our students. This time however we invited one of our students to share her story.

Zara prepared a PowerPoint presentation which she shared in the meeting, here are just some of her words…

I was proud beyond words at how Zara spoke with courage & confidence, even though she was very nervous. Well done, Zara!!

We also invited Shannon into the invitational to talk about her new role as a ‘Learning Centre Communication Champion’. She has already recruited 8 other students and they will be learning Signalong and then supporting other Learning Centre students. I’m looking forward to reporting on their progress over the next few months. Great work, Shannon!

Finally, I’d like to share some exciting news about another of our wonderful students. Some time ago we nominated Ellie for Oldham Childrens services ‘Outstanding Care Leavers Award’ and I’m absolutely delighted to announce that SHE WON!!! The presentation will be taking place at their ‘Stars Summer Celebration’ on 25th June at Mahdlo.

Were all very proud of you, Ellie, you have come such a long way and overcome so much to get to where you are today. MANY CONGRATULATIONS, ELLIE!!
